Sometimes it Stings (2012): A bather wades into the frothy unconscious to uncover the reason why, through most of her life, she has felt this way. She feels overwhelmed by the immensity of the task and the familiarity of the strange landscape. She discovers the culprit, underneath many layers of sand and grit, and winces as she is stung by thorns and barbs. What was done to her is unspeakable, yet she must relive it to change the paradigm. The most recent series of my photo syntheses – Transformation – captures the state of psyche at those inflection points that bring about real, lasting change.
